Glebe Fair Disasters.

Some pics from my market stall at the Glebe Fair.
It all started when I arrived at my sister's house in Sydney and smashed her pot her jade plant was in. Not one for superstition, and avoiding the jade money plant who-ha, I cleaned it up and thought "must buy her a new plant when she moves." Then I went to the Glebe Fair and had a stall with my sister and had a great morning. Met some great people and had some really positive feedback on my stuff, then two teenage girl shites distracted me and robbed me. Feeling like an absolute gimp for having a tin with some money in it, I won't make that mistake again. Hard lesson to learn, but the police said they had also targeted other people that day. Feeling absolutely devastated a lovely pregnant woman came up and then bought my first ever quilt - so this made my day. I would just like to thank all those people who came up and bought something from me on Sunday and especially to those people who offered kind words and support after I was robbed. Most of all I would like to thank my ace sister Sarah who got me back on track and said, 'yep, it's crap, but you've still got 4 more hours to sell stuff. So look up, smile at your customers and get on with it'. This is just what I needed as there was nothing I could do, but buck up and get on with it. Thanks Sar...

Clive likes Caravans

I've been reading round the traps of fellow bloggers top 5 celebrity people they would like to get friendly with. You know, people you think are ha-cha-cha. Personally I'm very fickle and it changes often. Ever since I saw 'Closer' though Clive Owen has been in that top 5 for a while. So when Kate from Little Bird at Elliot in Port Elliot, South Australia sold some of my caravan cushion covers to his wife, well I did get a tad excited. Immature, I know, but how much fun. The thought of Clive on my pillows and possibly his drool on my linocuts - cool! Anyway Kate said both wifey and Clive are nice and down to earth peeps and Kate is living just down the road from the Owens' family. Clive waves to Kate on his way to work. How funny and surreal is that? Sorry I can't link to Kate's shop she doesn't have a website yet. If you're in the SA area though pop into Kate's store, she is going to be a celebrity herself. She recently did a magazine shoot and is going to be appearing in a few different magazines. I, personally, can't wait to see some of her other goodies in her shop. There is such an online buzz about her shop, so look out for Kate in upcoming interior Aussie magazines.

The Olive Tree Markets

Another succesful Olive Tree Market, yay for Justine, Bec and Ally - the star organisers. In the morning I was standing under my canopy with torrential rain pouring down, thinking, how am I going to pack all this up and voila cleared up and the sun even came out for part of the day. I'd just like to thank everyone for turning up, even the mad shoppers who came out in the early morning rain. This market is going to go from strength to strength with the support of all our loyal shoppers. Sydney peeps it's well worth the drive. I handed out heaps of cards so if you're a first time viewer - welcome to my online ramblings. If you trawl further in you will find stories that relate to various things you may have bought. There are super nice people over here in bloggyland so check out some crafty fabulousness over in my Sites to Inspire list. Talking of fabulous. A fab shop at The Olive Tree Markets is Rancho (Michelle) who makes beautiful glass pendants and prints and look what she kindly secretly made and gave to me (see above). It's made from my bloggy header. I wore it all day and felt so special. Thanks once again Michelle.
All my friends and family have frequented her stall and now own some of her loveliness. And those not in the Newie area you can buy Michelle's stuff online here. As for pics of the market I was so busy I forgot, oops!
